
She is a critical leader on CU Strategic Planning’s award winning CDFI team. In her role as Operations Director, she is responsible for the certification of credit unions as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) and system creation and data collection for credit union CDFI applications. Additionally, Kathleen has been selected by the Washington State Attorney General’s Office to create Vulnerable Adult Abuse Prevention Training for credit unions in Washington State.
During the last decade, she worked nearly every front- and back-line position in credit unions both large and small. As a result, she understands the connectivity of the balance sheet and net worth to individual employee performance, as well as an entire department’s impact on expense reduction, other income creation, loan deployment and collections.
She integrates her firsthand knowledge of the challenges credit union employees and managers face into training, to remove opportunities for teams not to reach their goals. Well-trained staff support the tactical plans of management teams to reach the strategic goals set by the board of directors. She is an expert at process improvement, with specialized certifications in The Deming Management Philosophy and Supervisory Training.
